Preparing Your Food

Step 2:
Boil the Water
- Fill the Pot/Kettle: Pour enough water into your pot or kettle based on the instructions of your dehydrated meal (usually 1-2 cups).
- Heat the Water: Place the pot on a stove or campfire and bring the water to a rolling boil. This usually takes about 5-10 minutes, depending on your heat source.
Step 3:
Prepare the Meal
- Open the Dehydrated Meal: Carefully open the package, ensuring you don’t spill any contents.
- Add the Boiling Water: Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and carefully pour the hot water into the container with the dehydrated meal.

Step 4:
Stir the Mixture
- Mix Well: Use your stirring utensil to mix the meal and water thoroughly. Make sure all the dehydrated ingredients are submerged and evenly moistened.
Step 5:
Wait for Hydration
- Seal the Container: Seal the container to help retain heat and moisture.
- Let it Sit: Wait for the time specified in the meal instructions, usually around 10-15 minutes. This allows the ingredients to rehydrate properly.

Step 6:
Check and Serve
- Stir Again: After the waiting period, give the meal another stir to ensure it’s evenly mixed.
- Check Consistency: If it looks too dry, you can add a little more hot water and stir.
- Enjoy Your Meal: Once it’s fully rehydrated, dig in and enjoy!
Tips:
- Always check the specific instructions on your meal package, as cooking times and water amounts can vary.
- Be cautious with hot water to avoid burns.
- Bring a lightweight camping stove if you’re cooking away from a fire.
Happy camping!
